Frequently asked questions:

1. When do I start looking at colleges?

Before the summer starts, the transition to junior year. Pick out a minimum of three colleges to visit over the summer. This is to see the school and understand your surroundings, and see if this is the college you want you want to apply to.

2. Does the PSAT even count?

The PSAT is a practice test to get you ready for one of the biggest tests you will take, the SAT. If you do not list your PSAT scores on your transcript colleges can not see the scores. However your SAT scores will be provided for colleges to look at.


Steps To Prepare For Life After School

  • Take a practice PSAT

  • Stay on track with your courses, check your grades and communicate with your teachers

  • Begin learning about the college admissions process

  • Continue exploring potential careers

  • Take on new roles--get involved in school clubs, sports or other activities

  • Read, read, read.

  • Practice your writing

  • Get advice from your counselor

  • Keep your grades up

  • Get a summer job
