Parent Update

Making Learning Personal through Positive Connections

Our learners got back into the swing of things this week. They were very upbeat and the staff had overwhelming positive statements regarding the first week of the school year. Check out some images of our first week of school.

A special welcome to our twenty students from Bilbao, Spain! They are living with their host families for the next week and have an action-packed week ahead. Thanks to the families that volunteered to take them in.

Meet our new teachers...

Jenn McDonald
is excited to be a new member of the GHS community. She has been in education for eight years, this year being her third as a math teacher. She is passionate about cultivating a classroom experience where all learners can be successful.

As a graduate of Gilford High School, Sarah Achorn went on to pursue her teaching degree at Plymouth State University. After graduating from PSU, she was hired as a Social Studies teacher at Moultonborough Academy where she taught for the last three years. Now, she’s back where it all started and she couldn't be happier. Sarah currently lives in Gilmanton with her husband and two shelties.

Andrew Pegg was born and raised in CT and just moved up to this beautiful area. He is taking over as a Science teacher and cannot wait! Andrew loves staying active with sports such as soccer, swimming, ultimate frisbee, and his favorite - snowboarding!

Otherwise, he’s a fan of the arts and theater as well as frequently put on improv shows at colleges and high schools in CT and NY. Overall, he’s an adventurous guy who is always looking toward the next journey!

*Fun fact about the picture - It's called the wormhole, located on Inis Mor, Ireland. There's a red bull diving comp there yearly and I had the courage to jump in! It was freezing cold and filled with jellies, lucky me!*
