Community Service

24 Hours of Community Service are Required for Graduation

Philosophy

Evidenced by the Gilford High School Mission Statement, we believe it is important that our students develop civic skills. Providing opportunities for students to become involved in worthwhile service learning activities will help to develop a sense of caring for others, which in turn will build character and foster civic responsibility.

Goals

  • Provide students with an opportunity to learn responsibility, experience the satisfaction that comes with helping others, and acquire new skills.

  • Provide students with access to a higher level of community service not offered through family initiatives.

  • Strengthen school and community relationships
