Hello,

Here is a video on the latest announcement pertaining to remote learning for the remainder of the school year, picking up supplies, closing down classrooms, and end of year events.

Please read the entire update because there are numerous, important updates.

Over the next two weeks, I will put out information if your child needs to pick remaining items up from their locker or classes. We will do this in a safe manner that is controlled with only a few students at a time. They will need to sign up ahead of time and probably have 5 minutes each. Stay tuned.

Please call 524-7146 with any questions you may have. All messages are checked and are routed to the appropriate person.

Stay safe everyone! I miss you!

Video of the EPIC parade!!
Thanks to school counselor Chantelle Moynihan for compiling this video of all the smiles our community had.

Thanks to the over 100 staff that showed up to say, WE MISS YOU!!

And just wait...the next parade may be with our Senior class. I hear it is going to be LEGENDARY!!!!
The administrative team held a virtual coffee hour this Wednesday with seniors. They had some great ideas on what Graduation COULD/MAY look like. We have reached out to several businesses that have large parking lots that may be able to assist us if we decide to have a live ceremony while practicing safe social distancing. We will update you when we have new information but please know we're working as quickly as we can to come up with something special for our seniors. Please be patient.
Senior Moment...
Class of 2020
We came so far in life.
We never gave up during the hard times.
We faced challenges and struggled along the way,
But we came out of it.
We made friends and lost friends.
Even though senior year is done with us being together in class,
We still have to focus on our goals and achievements
ending this last trimester on a high note.
I will remember the great things we did.
We won winter carnival two years in a row.
We worked together as a class.
We never gave up and always focused on helping each other out
I am grateful that I met you all.
During these challenging times we all came together, closer than ever.
I am going to miss you all, but you all are going to go places and do well.
Remember to be thankful and appreciate one another during these hard times.
Thanks for being a great class and thanks for being supportive.
Graduation will be great no matter what happens.

The Senior Class is purchasing one yard sign for every senior! The order is being placed and within two weeks, you will see a sign in your yard.

Free Reading Library
Feel free to pick up a free book at the middle school from the free Reading Library.

The AP Literature Literature students also created a library at the Village fields.

During these challenging times, consider turning off the electronics and get into a book.
Do you want to find out if you like a certain field?
Contact Dan Caron so he can work with you to set up an internship for the fall or next year. Many of you have already contacted him. This is the time to connect. dcaron@sau73.org
A note from Director of Athletics, Rick Acquilano
I am sharing NHIAA President, Jeff Collins' message from Thursday, April 16th. Most of you know by now that the spring athletic season has been lost as a result of the Governor's decision to extend remote learning for the remainder of the academic year due to this crisis. Whereas I support the decision, I also must recognize the loss that results from it. I was so looking forward to this spring, our education-based athletic program and the excellence we have become accustomed to in athletics at GHS.

To our student athletes, coaches, parents and greater GHS community, I am saddened for this loss, in particular as Mr. Collins referenced, for our seniors. Our seniors have graced our fields, courses, courts, track, ice and pool for the past four years. We thank you for inspiring each of us through your efforts.

In closing, I am confident that we will move forward as a community and I sincerely wish each of you and your families the best of health.
AP News
If you are taking an AP class, please read below.

2.      At-home AP testing

  • Students, teachers, and AP Coordinators have been emailed important updates
  • Schools who are able to do so, can help by letting students know that the College Board is committed to providing students with opportunities to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they’ve developed in AP classes this year. During this extraordinary time, we have launched daily video lessons, taught online by AP teachers, as well as AP Exams that can be taken at home.

Exam Dates
  • Exams will be given from May 11–22.
  • Students will take exams at home or in school, if they reopen.
  • Each subject's exam will be taken on the same day at the same time, worldwide.
  • Students should test on the main testing dates as the May exam weeks were designed to have no exam conflicts.
  • Makeup test dates will be available for each subject from June 1–5.
  • View the full testing schedule.
Exam Format
  • Most exams will have one or two free-response questions, and each question will be timed separately.
  • Students will be able to take exams on any device they have access to — computer, tablet, or smartphone. They'll be able to type and upload responses or write responses by hand and submit a photo via their cell phone.
  • For most subjects, the exams will be 45 minutes long, plus an additional 5 minutes for uploading.
  • Students with approved testing accommodations will be able to use them on the exams. Details will be shared closer to the exams.
  • Tips for testing on specific devices will be available in late April.
