In response the COVID-19 pandemic, we are making plans to ensure the continuity of education in the event we need to close down schools. One of the first steps is to identify those families who do not have access to the Internet at home.
If you do
not
have access
, please call the school at 524-7146 or, if able, email Kathy Dubois at
[email protected]
. Hopefully, we will not have to put these plans into action. Thank you.

Senior Class Trip Update!!!
The Senior Class trip has been changed from May 29 & 30 to May 18 & 19
. We anticipate that the change in dates may still conflict with some obligations; however, we had a large percentage of students that could not attend based on an event that was scheduled after the decision to book this trip. The plan is still to whitewater raft in Caratunk, Maine but we need to get more students to sign up. Currently, we do not have enough to have this overnight trip. Please register and make your $100 deposit by Tuesday, March 17.
Obviously, we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 virus.

The SAT will be given as the statewide assessment for
English Language Arts/Reading/Writing and Math to all
juniors on March 25 during school.
When you register for the SAT online or on paper, you’ll be asked to complete a questionnaire that collects information about your grades, interests, intended major, college plans, and other things. You don’t have to answer the questions, but we recommend that you do. If you fill out the questionnaire and opt into
Student Search Service
®
,
participating colleges and scholarship organizations that are looking for students like you will be better able to find you.
Institutions that receive your SAT scores and related data are required to maintain confidentiality of data and to adhere to College Board guidelines for using information.

There is no new information but wanted to alert you of the proposed "window" for Graduation. We anticipate being able to solidify a date in mid to late April. This is the same as in past years.
The window for Graduation is June 10-21. The date for Graduation to occur is any day from June 10 - 21.I know this is a large window but it's the best we can offer until a date is officially chosen. Once chosen, an announcement will be made official immediately.

Decennial visit March 29, 30, 31, April 1
|
A team comprised of six educators representing the New England Association for Schools and Colleges will visit GHS on March 29, 30, 31, and April 1.
The purpose of this Accreditation visit is to review and determine from an outside professional viewpoint the extent to which the school is aligned with the Standards for Accreditation. As part of the assessment, the visiting team will meet with all school constituents, review the school’s Self-Reflection, visit a number of classes, and examine examples of student work submitted by the school. During the comprehensive Self-Reflection, the faculty attempted to identify the school's strengths and determined those areas in which changes would be beneficial.
