Faculty Spotlight

Emily Wolpin: English 

About Emily:

  • Grew up in Falmouth, Maine
  • She has three boys ages 10, 7, and 3. She spends most of her free time with them, doing things like skiing, watching them play sports, hiking and swimming in the summer, and traveling to visit family.
  • She used to teach yoga and still practices when she can. 
  • Elle parle francais et elle adore la France!

High School Memories: 

  • Played soccer and softball, skied and snowboarded, played in the band, and was a part of the yearbook club. 
  • English & History were her favorite subjects because she loved reading and writing.

College:

  • Hamilton College: BA in English & French. 
  • University of Pennsylvania: Masters in Secondary English & World Language Education.
Why Teaching?

"Every student, class, day, and year is new and different. I like that I am continuously able to learn and grow from new experiences and people- both students and other teachers. Teaching is never boring!"

 

What Classes Do You Teach? 

"I currently teach mostly English and some French."

 

What Makes GHS So Special?

"There is a strong connection between all three schools and the community. I've only been here a few months, but I can already feel the sense of togetherness and working toward common goals. It's also fun to catch an occasional glimpse of my own kids:)"
