Good Evening,

Last week was a successful Homecoming week for our students. It’s always fun to see our alumni come back and share their experiences with us.

During Homecoming, our students and families donated over 455 pounds of food that will be distributed to our local community. Combine that with our efforts for the hurricane relief effort and I can say with certainty, our students are understanding what it means to give back to their community. This supports our .5 credit requirement of community service. In looking ahead, October 20th will be our Freshmen Community Service day where they will learn about this requirement and comprehend why we value this.

GHS is holding Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, October 5th from 3:00-6:00 and Friday, October 6th from 8:00-3:00. We believe that it’s crucial for your child to play a major role in their own education. We ask that your child attend the conference with you to facilitate the meeting and articulate what he/she is learning. Here is the link to sign up. Please contact Tim Goggin at if you have questions.

Next Friday, September 29th, Gilford’s School Counseling Department is hosting the New Hampshire Colleges and Universities College Fair. Students were provided a list of questions to pose to the admissions representatives. Parents are welcome to attend. Seniors  11:00-11:30, Juniors  11:30-12:00 in the gym
