Good Evening-

This update is coming to you a day earlier because we have a lot happening. Tonight, we will have our Monster Band concert for grades K-12 with Gilmanton attending as well. I hope you’re able to join us. Immediately following that, most of the high school students will go home and complete their packing as they’re leaving for Orlando, Florida Friday morning at 2:30 for three days so they can compete. Best of luck! I hear the weather is going to be in the mid-90’s.

GHS is proud to announce that we have a United States Presidential Scholar recipient. Connor Craigie, has been selected to receive the medallion in Washington, D.C. in June. Out of the 3.5 million students expected to graduate from high school this year, more than 5,100 candidates qualified for this award by demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship, service, and contributing to school and community. 161 students were recognized for this achievement and Connor is one of only 20 students that qualified in the area of Career and Technical Education. Please join me in congratulating Connor on this prestigious honor. Here is the press release.

Wellness Wednesday continues to be a huge hit with our students. They were exposed to reiki this week. Fruit and vegetable smoothies were also offered to students. You can see a sample attached.

Also attached is information on our STEAM EXPO Night occurring at the high school on Wednesday, May 24th from 6:00-7:30. Join us as students show off what they’re learning about!

Jordan’s Ice cream is offering a fundraiser for the PTA. This Fridaynight, order ice cream at the new Funspot location and say you’re supporting the Gilford PTA. A portion of the proceeds help our PTA.

Next Friday evening, our Prom march will begin at 5:30 in the gymnasium. The Mt. Washington boat leaves the Weirs dock promptly at 7:00. We’re hoping for good weather.

For all the mothers out there, I hope your children spoil you this weekend.
