Good Evening,

Yesterday morning, we had Kathi Sullivan speak with our students about making positive decisions and it was a very impactful story. She shared the loss of her daughter, Taylor, at an underage drinking party. It was moving for our staff members to see how our students listened to her speak. Please make sure you know where your child is before and after Prom and please have a conversation with him/her about doing the right thing. Thank you PTA for getting Kathi here.

Speaking of PTA, congratulations to Sharyn Sasserson for being named Lakes Region Champion for Children. She has supported students throughout the district in her many roles and we are so happy to see her receive this recognition.

Congratulations to Gilford Elementary School for being named New Hampshire ElementarySchool of the Year! See the award presentation here.

Last evening, all of the bands from elementary school to high school as well as Gilmanton played together in the Monster Band concert. This was another remarkable event put on by the Performing Arts Department. Well done!

The winners of the PTA Poetry contest are…

10th- Laurel Gingrich

11th- Kendall Boisvert

12th- Jenna Baumeister

Overall- Sophie Leggett

There will be a celebration of our winners Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Gilford Public Library. All the winners are invited with their family and friends to read their poems aloud.

Senior parents: This went to seniors earlier this week. “This is a reminder that your school email/Google account will be locked permanently on Thursday, June 14th at noon.  All data associated with this account -- Google Documents, Calendars, Gmail, etc. -- will be permanently deleted during the summer. You MUST transfer anything you wish to keep BEFORE June 14th, 2018.”

There are many well-documented ways to download/transfer your Google Apps data. To get material out of your school Google account Docs/Drive, gmail or Contacts that you want to save, we recommend:
http://www.google.com/takeout  It takes about 5 minutes from start to finish! Once you have exported the files to a zip file, you can import them into your own Gmail account. If you have any questions, see Mr. Nazer.

For all the mothers out there, I hope that you enjoy your special day.

Have a great weekend.
