Good Evening,

The end of the year is rapidly approaching with only five school days remaining for our students.

Every ten years, accredited high schools are visited by a committee of peers, comprised of professional educators who have volunteered to serve on the visiting team, visits an institution to evaluate its adherence to stated standards. This process includes reviewing the findings of the self-study and identifying areas of strength and making recommendations that will lead to better adherence to standards and to school improvement. This is the process that has granted GHS their accreditation through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). We will be visited by this committee in the spring of 2020. The reason I am explaining this is that for the remainder of the school year, GHS will take an extensive look at how we perform compared to the standards.

In the coming weeks, I will ask each family to complete a fifteen minute (14 questions) survey that will allow us to gather opinions of parents/guardians regarding how well GHS is meeting your child’s needs. The survey will be confidential and the results will be used to improve the school. Please stay tuned and I would ask for your support in completing the questions accurately and honestly.

Nurse Jenkins has provided this link to our Health Services page with updates on invisible illnesses.

Please remind your child to stay focused the final week before vacation. Have a great weekend.
