Good Evening,

It’s been a quick but productive week for our students. We have a busy couple weeks coming up for our students. The freshmen will begin accumulating their community service hours (24 before they graduate) on October 23rd. Here’s a rundown.

In an effort to help the incoming Freshmen Class better understand the high school's philosophy regarding community service the following events have been scheduled:

Monday 10/16  7:45- Kick off assembly for all Freshmen in the auditorium "Why Community Service" (PowerPoint presented by Eagle Ambassadors)

Monday 10/16  During English classes: All Freshmen complete Google Community Service Day Sign Up form. (Students pick four projects they want to work on and be assigned one.)

Friday 10/23- Community Service Day

7:40- 8:15 Breakfast for students and chaperones

8:00- Opening remarks by Principal. (Review of why service and the pillars of character are important and how they foster a sense of community in the school. Overview of the day.)

8:15- 8:30 Students organize into project groups with their chaperones

8:30-11:30 Students work on projects

11:30-2:00 Student BBQ & Team Building/Class bonding games run by Jumpstart/Eagle Ambassadors

Please support the Superfund for GHS and GMS clubs and organizations. This link provides an overview of the program and how it will assist our students.

Here’s a preview of Oliver! which is held at GHS on November 10, 11, 17, 18 beginning at 7:00pm in the auditorium. More info to follow.

Have a great weekend.
