Nathan J. Babcock Memorial Scholarship

posted Jan 30, 2019, 12:03 PM by Polly Camire
Deadline: April 29, 2019.  Award: Variable.  This scholarship is given in memoriam of Nathan J. Babcock, a former student of GHS who died of a rare type of cancer in 2005.  It was his goal of attending the University of Rhode Island.  He was known for his positive demeanor, his great enthusiasm for life, and his ability to light up a room.  He was extremely kind and giving in nature, and constantly reached out to others in need without any concern for acknowledgment.  These concepts of kindness and compassion in one's daily life, and how one contributes to others, are the only criteria used in awarding Nathan Babcock Scholarships.  Applicants need to fill out the application and demonstrate these concepts in an essay.  Applications may be picked up in the School Counseling office.
