Congrats to Kendra Tibbals! Her photography was chosen as the runner-up for NH's First District  Congressional Art Competition.

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our Congressional District.

Kendra competed against 16 other students, winning one of two top spots. As runner-up, her artwork will be professionally framed and then hung in the district offices of Carol Shea-Porter for the duration of Porter's term.

Annalee Thornedike Scholarship Contest

Great news! Olivia Morea won 1st place at the Annalee Thornedike Scholarship contest, taking home a $1000 scholarship for a senior pursuing art or an art related field. Chloe Bourgeois, Kendra Tibbals and Laurel Normandin also participated from Gilford along with four other students from lakes region schools. The kids had their work displayed at the Laconia Public Library this past week and had the awards presentation today. It’s a pretty big honor and I’m very proud of Olivia and the other kids who entered their work.
